## Who we are

Lives of the Saints is the Orthodox Calendar Company, a family-run publisher that has produced annual Orthodox calendars since 1995. We ship calendars, books, prayer ropes, icons, and devotional gifts to more than 30 countries.

Our work is built on four principles:
1. **Both calendars, one Church** - every feast is marked under both Julian and Revised Julian reckonings. A Greek parishioner and a ROCOR friend can use our work without either feeling like a guest.
2. **Living tradition, not history** - the lives of the saints are companions, not footnotes. We write them as stories - to be read with morning coffee, not skimmed as reference.
3. **Made in small, honest runs** - our books and cards are produced with the same care the liturgy asks of anything that enters the home. No throwaway print, no landfill-bound gift-shop trinkets.
4. **Every order funds the work** - revenue supports new editions, and the free daily content on this site. Nothing is subsidized by ads or data.

## Company timeline

- **1995** - The first calendar. A single-family project - one family, one year, one photocopied edition of the saints of the day.
- **2006** - Since 2006. Ten annual editions, shipped across North America. The calendar finds its way into parish bookstores and monastery shops.
- **2020** - Worldwide. Orders from more than ten countries - in Australia, South America, Africa, Asia, parishes across the diaspora.
- **2026** - Thirty-first annual. The 2026 calendar, a growing library of books and gifts, and the Lives of the Saints app - the daily work, carried into a new medium.

## Editorial Policy

The daily saint, feast, and reading content on the website and in the Lives of the Saints app is free. Sales of the print calendar and books fund new editions, translations, and ongoing content work.

We welcome submissions and corrections - especially for saints from traditions underrepresented in English-language calendars. Write to us with sources attached.
