Saint Joseph the Hesychast
A long time ago in Greece, there was a very special man named Joseph. From the time he was a little boy, he loved God with all his heart.

When he grew up, he wanted to spend all his time talking to God. So, he went to live on a beautiful, quiet mountain. He became a "hermit," which means he lived very simply and quietly so he could pray all day long.

Because Joseph was so full of God's love, other people wanted to be just like him. They came to the mountain, and he became their teacher. He taught them three important things:Always be kind and gentle. Be a good listener.Keep a quiet, happy prayer in your heart all the time.

Joseph was such a wonderful teacher that his students went all over the world to build special churches and teach even more people how to pray.

Because he was so holy and helped so many people, he was named a Saint!

Today, people still visit a beautiful church in Greece to remember him, feel close to him, and ask him to pray for them.
