More about
the Orthodox Prayer Rope Gift Set
The prayer rope is used as a tool to say the Jesus Prayer. It can also be used to pray to the Panagia, “Most Holy Mother of God save us,” to your guardian angel, “Holy angel intercede for me,” and to your favorite saints. This 50-knot black wool prayer rope is handmade by the monks of Mount Athos, Greece. St. Paul the Apostle encourages us to pray without ceasing.
This Orthodox prayer rope gift set includes a 33-knot or 50-knot wool prayer rope, a simple and time-tested tool for praying the Jesus Prayer: “Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me.” It is paired with the “The Prayer Rope” booklet written by the monks of St. Nektarios Monastery in Roscoe, NY. It briefly explains the basics and benefits of the Jesus Prayer.
This set is a thoughtful gift for catechumens, newly chrismated Orthodox Christians, godchildren, or anyone beginning a serious prayer life.
Please note that prayer ropes are handmade, so small variations in knotting and finish are part of their character. Packaged as shown.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly… in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs.”- Colossians 3:16
